Flower transport. When trees travel.

Sometimes even trees need to travel long distances, as was the case recently when a 2.7-metrehigh olive tree was shipped from the Spanish port of Almería to Switzerland. Gondrand took on both the comprehensive logistics operations and customs clearance for the valuable "passenger". Even though the sturdy cargo remained stoically calm throughout the long journey, extreme care was needed when unloading it, as plants and flowers can be especially susceptible to changes of location.

Gondrand's green fingers

Gondrand has been a specialist in the transport of plants and flowers for over 40 years. Our highly qualified experts have all the knowledge required to pack fragile consignments correctly and ship them with the necessary care and attention. Various factors have to be considered to ensure that the living cargo arrives at its destination undamaged. It is particularly important to load and unload larger plants with caution to avoid causing damage to branches and leaves. In addition, plants have to be protected against fluctuations in temperature and extremely dry conditions during their journey: some might cope very well with heat, while others may be particularly sensitive to colder temperatures. Green fingers are therefore required – and Gondrand has them. Whether for cut flowers or young, nursery or Mediterranean plants, we import this sensitive cargo, ensuring it remains undamaged, from all the important markets: this includes daily shipments from the Netherlands, as well as to and from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and Italy. We not only guarantee that your shipment will reach its destination on time; we also take care of everything else – from completing transport documents and import procedures to carrying out checks to ensure the health of the plants.
